Real Madrid defender Rafael Farran has confirmed his position on the fate of the Royal Club with whom he will contract until the summer of 2022.
“There have been a lot of rumours about me lately, even though I am a conservative,” Faran said in remarks published by L’Equipe.
“There is a tendency to distort, and give me other explanations, especially in Spain,” he added after the hosts beat Moldova 4-1 in Euro 2020.
“I have done my utmost to make my team a constant challenge in Real Madrid, and I do not feel any headache.”
“I know perfectly well the level and the crises that the team has suffered throughout this difficult season, but it is possible in the life of a football player who plays at great levels.”
“But that does not mean that I’m not happy with my presence in Real Madrid,” he added.
“Varane told the dressing room at Real Madrid that he wanted to leave by the end of the season,” the Spanish daily Marca said yesterday.
Other reports also spoke of Farran’s desire for a new experience next season, with a number of top European players including Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
