Marseille will miss the services of captain Dimitri Payet for three weeks because of Sunday’s knee injury during a league match against Caen, his team said.
Payet left the pitch just 26 minutes after the start of the match against Caen after a foul on defender Paul Baysse. “The midfielder underwent tests on his return to Marseille and was found to have a twist in the left side ligament” of his knee, his team said in a statement.

Payet was replaced by Morgan Sanson, who scored a 1-0 win over Caen on Sunday in the 21st round of the league, allowing his team to rise to 31 points in seventh place, 6 points behind Lyon, To the Champions League, but the latter fought more than the team of coach Rudi Garcia.
