A Spanish press report on Barcelona’s plan to sign Ajax Amsterdam defender Matthijs de Ligt has been unveiled during the summer transfer.
The newspaper “Sport” that Josep Maria Bartomeu, president of Barcelona, and Albert Soler, head of institutional relations of the club, will be on Tuesday in Amsterdam to attend the General Assembly of the Association of European Clubs, which is held twice a year.
She added that Barcelona’s trip to the Netherlands will be of great importance, as he is expected to discuss the future of de Ligt, after the club was able to sign with Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
The newspaper said that Barcelona intends to introduce young Frenchman Jean-Clair Todibo, defender of the team and joined in the transfer period last winter from Toulouse, to be the key to facilitate the process of joining de Ligt.

Barca face stiff competition for de Ligt, with Juventus keen to sign the player.
Abidal is aiming for a match against Portugal and Serbia in qualifying for Euro 2020.
The Portuguese face the Serbian counterpart, next Monday, at the stadium “Luz”.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Abidal will watch the performance of Luka Jović of Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Blaugrana want Jović to join in to strengthen the centre of the attack, with Barça looking for striker No. 9 to succeed Luis Suarez.
