Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin ruled out for nine months after rupturing knee ligaments

Spain’s Hector Pellerin will be out of action for six to nine months after suffering a cruciate ligament during Saturday’s victory over Chelsea, British media reported on Tuesday.

Pelerin was playing his first game in the first leg after returning from a calf injury, was injured in the knee during the second half of the game in front of Chelsea and left the field on a stretcher.

The 23-year-old has been hit by a new blow to coach Unai Emery, who has already lost defender Rob Holding to the end of the season because of a similar knee problem last month.

The Spanish coach said he had other options to fill the center of Pelerin and would probably not enter the transfer market to sign a replacement.
