Barcelona vs Real Valladolid Prediction & Match Preview

05 April 2021 20:00 UK/ 21:00 CET La Liga Camp Nou

Barcelona will be looking to put an extra pressure on league leaders Atletico Madrid when they face Real Valladolid on Monday evening.

Barca aim to bring down the curtain on the La Liga round 29 in style, and we are positive that the Catalan giants will go all guns blazing at La Pucela.

Since Leo Messi was not on international duty with Argentina at the weekend, we believe that Ronald Koeman’s men are going to record a routine win over Valladolid.

The likes of Gerard Pique, Philippe Coutinho, and Ansu Fati remain in the recovery room, but the trio was not missed at all in a 6-1 crushing of Real Sociedad.

La Pucela are four points clear of the relegation zone, and given their five-game winless run on the road, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise.

Fabian Orellana is banned for the match, while several first-team regulars have been tested positive for coronavirus.

Team News:

Barca will again be without the services of Philippe Coutinho, Ansu Fati and Gerard Pique through injury, while Neto is a doubt due to an ankle problem.

Sergi Roberto has returned to full fitness, though, and the Catalan giants also did not pick up any injuries during the international break, meaning that Koeman has a strong squad to choose from.

Oscar Mingueza could again get the nod over Ronald Araujo to start in a back three, while Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele should feature alongside Lionel Messi in the final third of the field.

As for Valladolid, Jota, Pablo Hervias, Raul Garcia and Kiko Olivas are all still unavailable through injury, while Fabian Orellana will be unable to play on Monday through suspension.

The visitors will also be without the services of Joaquin Fernandez, Michel, Kike Perez, Luis Perez and Roberto Jimenez, with all five players returning positive coronavirus tests.

Sergi Guardiola and Shon Weismann are again likely to feature as the front two for Valladolid, while Jordi Masip, Javi Sanchez and Bruno Gonzalez should all come into the first XI.
