Koln vs Borussia Dortmund Prediction & Match Preview

FC Koln

Dortmund

20 March 2021 14:30 UK/ 15:30 CET Bundesliga RheinEnergieStadion

Saturday’s football match at RheinEnergieStadion pits together Koln and Borussia Dortmund, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table.

Koln are only one point clear of the relegation zone, and given their poor form, home win should not be considered.

It has to be noted that the Billy Goats collected only one point in total from the previous five league fixtures.

Borussia Dortmund, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin.

Edin Terzic’s men are only two points behind the Champions League berth, and seeing that Koln head into the match with the lack of confidence, we are tempted to put our money on Erling Haland and Co.

Koln defender Jannes-Killian Horn, who suffered an injury in the 2-1 loss to Union Berlin, is unlikely to feature against Borussia Dortmund. Jadon Sancho remains sidelined for the visitors with an ankle injury.

Team News:

Koln will be without Jannes Horn after the defender picked up his fifth caution of the season in the defeat to Union Berlin.

Sebastian Bornauw and Florian Kainz are unlikely to return from injury in time, but should do so after the upcoming international break.

Likewise, England winger Jadon Sancho is unlikely to be risked, with Mats Hummels, Reus, Mateu Morey, Raphael Guerreiro, Manuel Akanji, Axel Witsel and Marcel Schmelzer all significant doubts for Dortmund, too.

Terzic may have plenty of decisions to make as to how to restructure his potentially depleted side, then, with Moukoko and Thomas Delaney two very differing options to come into the XI from last weekend.

FC Koln possible starting lineup:
T.Horn; Wolf, Mere, Czichos, Katterbach; Skhiri, Hector; Ozcan, Meyer, Rexhbecaj; Duda
