Leeds vs Aston Villa Prediction & Match Preview

Leeds

Aston Villa

27 February 2021 18:30 CET Premier League Elland Road

Leeds United and Aston Villa face each other at Elland Road in what is expected to be one of the most exciting games of Saturday’s program.

The Whites have been having their ups and downs in the 2020/21 Premier League season, but they are on the right track to secure the elite division survival.

The likes of Berardi, Forshaw, Koch, Phillips, Poveda, and Rodrigo are all likely to miss the game with injuries, but given Leeds’ attacking potential, we are positive that Marcelo Bielsa’s troops are going to find the net against Aston Villa.

The Villans, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Leicester City.

Aston Villa are not regarded as good travellers, but given Leeds United’s shaky defence, we believe that punters can find value in betting on both teams to score.

Aston Villa key midfielder Jack Grealish is rated doubtful for the game.

Team News:

As well as the already-injured Phillips, Leeds lost fellow midfielder Jamie Shackleton before the game due to abductor problems, while Mateusz Klich was forced off during the win with a back problem.

Pablo Hernandez would therefore love to earn a Premier League start if both players are ruled out of this one, but Pascal Struijk and Dallas deputising in midfield seems the most likely option.

Rodrigo is not expected to come back just yet either, while Helder Costa will hope to force his way into Bielsa's first XI after claiming an assist off the bench against Southampton.

Fantasy football controversy aside, Smith hopes to have Grealish back in the fold for the trip to Elland Road, but at the time of writing the 25-year-old is still considered a major doubt for the game.

Matty Cash and Kortney Hause remain sidelined, and with Ross Barkley flattering to deceive, new boy Morgan Sanson could finally be trusted from the first whistle.

Ollie Watkins has improved his goalscoring record of late, but he has failed to the back of the net in any of his seven meetings with Leeds - his worst record against an English side in the league.
