Alaves vs Real Madrid Prediction & Match Preview

Alaves vs Real Madrid
Spain – LaLiga
Date: Saturday, 23 January 2021
Kick-off at 20:00 UK/ 21:00 CET
Venue: Estadio Mendizorrotza.

After suffering a shocking loss to Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey last 32, Real Madrid will be looking to give fans some cheer when they take on Deportivo Alaves at Estadio Mendizorrotza.

Los Blancos aim to melt Atletico Madrid’s advantage in the La Liga standings, and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against Alaves.

Real Madrid were beaten by the Basque outfit earlier this season, meaning that the Spanish giants are hungry for revenge.

Since Sergio Ramos, Tony Kroos, Karim Benzema, and Luka Modric return to the starting XI, away win should be considered.

Deportivo Alaves, on the other hand, are on a three-game losing run in all competitions, with the team conceding ten goals in total in those matches.

Since Real Madrid are eager to get their revenge on Deportivo Alaves, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Zinedine Zidane’s troops.

Team News:

Alaves should be able to call upon Lucas Perez this weekend following a slight ankle problem so Edgar Mendez could switch to a wide position for the home side.

Rodrigo Ely is still injured, but the Basque club are otherwise in good shape in terms of availability, meaning that new head coach Abelardo has a number of decisions to make.

There are not expected to be many changes from the side that started against Sevilla, though, with Tomas Pina, Rodrigo Battaglia and Luis Rioja all likely to be in the XI.

Madrid will again be without the services of Rodrygo Goes through injury, while Nacho is unlikely to be involved, having recently come into close contact with an individual who tested positive for coronavirus.

Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos both missed out against Alcoyano due to knocks, and the former remains a doubt, meaning that Lucas Vazquez could again get the nod at right-back.

There will be wholesale changes from the clash with Alcoyano, with Thibaut Courtois, Ramos, Raphael Varane, Luka Modric, Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema among those expected to return.
