Wolves vs Chelsea Prediction & Match Preview

Wolves vs Chelsea
English Premier League
Date: Tuesday, 15 December 2020
Kick-off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: Molineux Stadium.

Wolverhampton will be aiming to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa when they take on Chelsea in a midweek fixture.

The Wolves should have grabbed something from the Villa clash, but Jack Grealish and Co.

eventually scored the winner in the stoppage time. Raul Jimenez will be once again sorely missed in Tuesday’s clash, and we do not believe that there is a big value in betting on the Wolves.

The Blues, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park.

Frank Lampard’s troops have been struggling in front of goal in matched against top-table sides, and, taking everything into account, a low-scoring affair is on the cards at Molineux Stadium.

The likes of Pulisic, Ziyech, and Hudson-Odoi are all likely to miss the game through injuries for the visitors. In their last meeting in the Premier League Chelsea defeated Wolverhampton 2-0.

Team News:

Veteran midfielder Moutinho will play no part in this one following his late sending-off against Villa, with his compatriot Ruben Neves set to return to the engine room.

There is still no timeframe on Jimenez's return to action after his skull fracture, while Jonny Otto is Wolves' other long-term absentee.

Willy Boly was forced to watch from the substitutes bench at the weekend and is unlikely to force his way back into the lineup for this one, but Rayan Ait Nouri could come in at left-back if Marcal is granted a rest.

Chelsea's three natural wingers are all out of action at the moment, with Christian Pulisic not making the trip to Everton after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring problem.

The American has an outside chance of being fit for this one, but Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech are not expected to return before Boxing Day at the earliest.

Timo Werner and Kai Havertz are all but guaranteed to start out wide again, and Jorginho will be vying for a start in midfield over Mateo Kovacic, with any further alterations on the visitors' end unlikely.
