Leicester City vs Everton Prediction & Match Preview

Leicester City vs Everton
England – Premier League
Date: Wednesday, 16 December 2020
Kick-off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: King Power Stadium.

Everton travel to Leicester with confidence restored to their side after a dogged 1-0 triumph at home to Chelsea at the weekend despite the absence of talisman James Rodriguez.

The Foxes meanwhile, enjoyed a much more comfortable victory, brushing aside Brighton 3-0. Sitting third in the Premier League heading into this round of fixtures, Leicester will be delighted with how their season has panned out so far.

This however, could prove a very evenly contested affair between two strong sides, both with high aspirations for the campaign. Leicester are one of only two teams in the Premier League to have not registered a single draw so far this season.

However, considering the credentials of Carlo Ancelotti’s visiting side that may be set to change, with both teams perhaps seeing a point as a positive result considering not just the strength of the opposition, but also the fatigue that may impact the players in this fixture following a second Premier League match in four days.

With the extra day of recovery, Ancelotti could decide to name the same starting XI from the meeting with Chelsea.

Even if Seamus Coleman and James Rodriguez are fit enough to return to the squad, they may have to be content with a place on the substitutes' bench.

Rodgers may be against handing Wilfred Ndidi a third start in less than a week, which could lead to a recall for Nampalys Mendy.

Harvey Barnes is also in line to come back into the team as a replacement for Ayoze Perez.

Leicester City possible starting lineup:
Schmeichel; Fofana, Evans, Fuchs; Albrighton, Mendy, Tielemans, Justin; Maddison, Barnes; Vardy
