Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg Prediction & Match Preview

Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg
Germany – Bundesliga
Date: Wednesday, 16 December 2020
Kick-off at 19:30 UK/ 20:30 CET
Venue: Allianz Arena (Munich).

After dropping two points in a 1-1 draw with Union Berlin, Bayern Munchen will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Bundesliga when they host Wolfsburg at their Allianz Arena.

The title holders are leading the chase for the domestic trophy, but Leipzig are breathing down their neck.

Bayern Munchen’s display in the draw with Union Berlin was anything but good, with the team experiencing all sorts of problems at the back.

Robert Lewandowski, who scored his 13th goal of the season at the weekend, will be the man to watch in the home team, while Kimmich, Martinez, and Tillman remain in the recovery room.

The Wolves came from behind to beat Hertha 2-1 in their last league match, and given Bayern’s shaky defence, both teams to score betting option should be considered.

The likes of Guilavogui, Malli, Mehmedi, and Steffen are all likely to miss the Allianz Arena clash through injuries.

Team News:

Bayern remain without Joshua Kimmich until the New Year after the midfielder sustained meniscus damage against Borussia Dortmund last month, so Corentin Tolisso could start in midfield having come off the bench in Berlin on Saturday.

Javi Martinez and Tanguy Nianzou are out with muscle injuries, which is an occurrence Flick may look to minimise by rotating his side given the quick turnaround between fixtures. Leroy Sane may be afforded an opportunity from the start, then, with Douglas Costa an alternative option.

Wolfsburg, meanwhile, will be without Joshua Guilavogui and Admir Mehmedi with muscle and Achilles tendon issues respectively.

Glasner does not possess the wealth of options Flick has at his disposal, so is likely to utilise the same XI to remain as competitive as possible.

Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
