Atletico Madrid vs Real Valladolid Prediction & Match Preview

Atletico Madrid vs Real Valladolid
Spain – La Liga
Date: Saturday, 5 December 2020
Kick-off at 17:30 UK/ 18:30 CET
Venue: Wanda Metropolitano (Madrid).

Atletico’s title challenge is being needlessly complicated by a failure to rubber-stamp qualification from their Champions League group.

A trip to Austria next week in which Atleti now need to collect something against Red Bull Salzburg after a late Thomas Muller penalty denied them a win in midweek means the ability to rotate is less than it should’ve been.

However, due to the opposition this week and the Madrid derby being next week, they will still look to rotate ahead of Salzburg and Real. Real Valladolid came back from the November international break with an impressive 3-1 victory over Granada.

This followed a 2-0 home win over Athletic and was backed up by a 1-1 draw with Levante meaning they are now three unbeaten. The away team will make things difficult for Atletico but a disjointed home win is still expected.
