Bonucci edges closer to contract extension with Juventus

International defender Leonardo Bonucci extended his contract with Juventus and linked him to the Italian champions until 2024.

Juventus announced the extension on Tuesday but did not provide financial details about his contract.

Bonucci joined Juventus in 2010 but spent the 2017-2018 season at Milan after a 40 million euro ($ 45 million) move amid reports of a row in the dressing room.

The Italian defender returned to Juventus in 2018, in a swap deal with Mattia Caldara, in a five-year deal.

The 32-year-old Bonucci won seven Serie A titles and three Italian Cups with Juventus. He has made nearly 100 appearances for Italy, leading the Azzurri on 10 occasions.
