According to the Italian website Calcio Mercato, UEFA issued a statement that Ronaldo was fined 20,000 euros, the same punishment as Argentine coach Diego Simeone when he made a similar ceremony in the first leg between the two teams.
With this penalty, Ronaldo will not miss the match against Ajax in the quarter-finals of the European Championship.
The European Union has taken the penalty, after Ronaldo was charged with misconduct in front of Atletico Madrid fans, according to the second and fourth point of Article 11 of the disciplinary regulations of UEFA.
Ronaldo scored three goals at Atletico during the game and helped qualify for the quarterfinals before going to celebrate in a controversial way against the fans.
