de Ligt, 19, is close to following Frenkie de Jong, who signed for Barcelona this season for 60 million euros, plus 11 million as changes, according to the newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
The newspaper pointed out that Barcelona is in the forefront of clubs wishing to sign with Matthijs de Ligt, ahead of Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Matthijs de Ligt has a strong relationship with de Jong, who refused the big financial offer from Saint Germain in February, to move to Camp Nou.

Despite the tense relationship between Barcelona and Mino Raiola, de Ligt's agent, Marc Overmars' position as Ajax's sports manager will help complete the deal, especially since he was a former Barca player.
